The Sports Museum of America is located at 26 Broadway in lower Manhattan.

The fastest and cheapest is the NYC subway. The fare is $2.00 per person.

From Rockefeller Center - on the 6th Avenue side - take a DOWNTOWN B, D, F or V train (letters in orange circles) to 34th St-Herald Square (2 stops), transfer upstairs to a DOWNTOWN R or W train (letters in yellow circles). Take take that train to Whitehall Street-South Ferry. At Whitehall St use the staircase at the rear of the station (Stone St exit). Walk up Whitehall St, past Bowling Green Park for about a block. You will see the famous Wall Street Bull sculpture on the corner of the park (you can't miss it, it is life size). 26 Broadway will be to the right of the bull (as you face the back of the bull).

Depending on the time of day the trip should take about 1/2 hour (+/-).

I have not been in the Museum yet but it sounds like something to see.

NYC Subway maps are posted in all stations. Smaller versions are available free at any station booth.

You can also check it online (until you get a paper copy)

Edit: I saw your other question with the itinerary.;...

If you plan to go to the WTC site first and then to the SMA , follow these instructions Instead of the ones above.

From Rockefeller Center - walk to 5th Av, then walk go to West 53rd St (left side of street). Aboubt 50 feet down the block you will see the entrance to the E and V subway lines. Take a DOWNTOWN E train (not the V) to the last stop - WTC. Use the turnstiles at the front of the station, then make a left and go up the stairs. The WTC site will be across the street (you can't miss it). To get to the SMA from there, go up one block to Broadway and make a right. Walk down Broadway until you see the bull I mentioned above. The SMA will be to the left.

To get back to Bryant Park from the SMA, after you leave the SMA building make a left. Walk down Whitehall Street to Stone Street and take an UPTOWN R or W train to 42nd St - Times Square (7th Av/Broadway) and then walk over to Bryant Park (6th Av).

To be honest, you might want to cut the SMA out for this trip. You have just too much crammed into 6 hours. Even 13 yo kids get fidgety after a while.
